This moon is a call…
To bring challenges into focus.
To prioritize your soul. .
A full moon signals an opposition of the sun and the moon, two powerful celestial bodies that rule our outer and inner worlds. Oppositions bring to our attention the polarity of life and in their tension, we’re called to find resolution. I frequently remind myself that in order to move forward from a place that feels stuck, I must let go of the one thing I’m holding onto the tightest. This is very much what a full moon can illuminate for us – the tension and the holding that is keeping us stuck… and it is in release that we find relief.
Oppositions also tend to create tension that is external – it is during full moons that the challenging relationship comes to a head, the deadline becomes more pressing, or mundane conflict becomes more relevant. You could attempt to isolate yourself from the outside world as much as you want, but you will still have to relate to the external in one way or the other.
Ultimately, this is something to greet with an open-mind: the energy created between two things is a fast-track to evolution. What may take a lifetime to work out on your own can be cleared and surpassed in a day within a relationship. Relationships and the act of relating are how we learn and grow and evolve into a newer, more conscious version of ourselves.
So if you’ve been tracking the moon and set intentions when the cycle was new (in this cycle the new moon was August 30), the Full Moon is the time when the relationships and external aspects of your life that are out of your control become nearly impossible to ignore… guiding (or forcing) your hand to let go.
The polarity between Virgo and Pisces is the distance between Earth and Heaven. It’s a call to discover the balance between planning and organizing, and the surrender that must occur when anything is created with heart. So for the sake of finding yourself in the middle, take some time to consider the parts of you that are decidedly Virgo and the you who yields Pisces. It’s impossible to live Virgo without Pisces or Pisces without Virgo and we harvest our wholeness when we recognize how both are alive within us. If you need help navigating your own astrology, let’s connect for a 1:1 reading.
Virgo touches on how we live, our health, our day-to-day and the details that make it run. It shows up in the things we think we may need to do and accomplish to live life in our highest or to achieve a vision of perfect. Life will teach us that perfect is not possible, but the Virgo within us will keep striving to get as close as possible. Virgo deals with aspects of us that have high standards and wants to serve the most people. This will require analysis, prioritization and pragmatism – all Virgo superpowers.
These traits, while so noble, require balance (as all things do). In the balance we find Pisces.
Pisces deals with our dreams and fantasies; the mystic and mythic poet within. It’s the part of us that is imaginative and creative, meditative, sensitive and deeply values rest and quiet and solitude and space to feel and to remember: life is for living and we, as conscious beings, are alive to experience life. Within and beyond everything else, that’s the whole point. Everything else is a layer on top.
We can’t be so caught up in life that we fail to appreciate the divine dancing all around us.
This Full Moon is about Faith.
Virgo calls us to organize our life and set up our routine to succeed and serve and Pisces asks us to breathe and be and forgive if we don’t always get it right. If we happen to skip a day, or change our mind, go off schedule or eat the cookies, we’re better off savoring the treat than punishing ourselves. There will always be factors outside of our control and when they seep into our plans (as mist seeps into soil), the lesson is to surrender to the will of the universe and allow what must flow, to flow.
This Full Moon may illuminate ways you’re favoring one end of the spectrum over another – if you’re slipping into the mist of Pisces or if you’re stuck in work mode or hard on yourself in classic Virgo style, life may awaken you to find your center. And as a check in, Pisces wants to know: are you using punishment and control as a tool to stay in line? If so, it’s time to soften!
When we surrender with intention and allow ourselves space to be moved, we may just end up in a place that’s more ideal than we could have imagined.
For this Full Moon weekend, give yourself space to breathe, to imagine, to feel. Let it be soft and easy and spacious. If this feels overwhelming, remember this: You don’t need to know everything. You may know the world needs to change… that it needs your contribution…. You may desire to create a legacy that lasts beyond your time… but you may not know exactly what it is yet or how to get there. That’s ok. Let the desire and knowing be enough. Your path will take form and then you will have a sense of things. You’ll know what to do when you know what to do. Wisdom comes, with time, with work, with surrender.

The Bigger Picture
The North Node in Cancer for the next year-and-a-half runs on an axis that is so in line with the themes of this full moon that it feels redundant to go over, but so necessary to practice. Ultimately, we must live a life that feels right for ourselves. It’s truly not about anyone else. We’re continuously reminded of the necessity to understand this as we meet our own self and release the work and effort that doesn’t honor our own emotional and spiritual needs. This moon is, at its root, another facet of this work.
Investigate your options without attachment. Stay present. Don’t escape or evade. This is a powerful moon for letting go and releasing the junk and truly finding a place where you can be content in the present moment – even if what’s going on around you isn’t where you want it.
Lean into the power of your imagination. Call forth your tools and spiritual practices – meditate, pray, sit quietly, take a bath, find moments of quiet and peace you can settle into. Imagine that outcome you want and the future life you desire. Take a break from trying to fix or make it perfect. Stop punishing and let yourself be.
