TRUTH ON TRIAL // GEMINI FULL MOON 2019

Full Moon in Gemini // December 11, 2019 ~ 9:12pm PST

The Full Moon presents us with an axis with which our life takes course. Certain aspects of our journey will be highlightened beneath the light of each one. And in the most subtle of ways, with careful attention, a pattern can begin to emerge. Different storylines and different characters each year offer a chance for refinement.

On this last moon of a year, on this last year of a decade we’re called to say goodbye to something of the past, get free from what is too heavy to carry and let go of what isn’t resolved. Not because it’s not valid or important or worth our heart, but because sometimes in order to move forward, we must simply let go of what we’re so holding tightly to. I’ll say this again and again, regardless of the moon cycle, but this one,  I urge you to consider. What sense of yourself are you holding tightly to? And is that mask keeping you from a kind of truth that could liberate you and guide you forward? Has your understanding of truth conceptually changed in the last 6, or even 12-months? How do you feel about that?

There’s something instinctually arising with this one – we’re having the conversations we need to be having and asking the questions that feel ripe to ask – about money, resources, community, worth, and ultimately, at the base of it all: truth.

Themes arising here call on us to take a short trip out of comfort and routine to locate ourselves now between
… the student and the teacher.
… the curious and the wise.
… the intellect and the optimist.
… the fact-finder and the philosopher.
None are completely different from one another, just two ends of a spectrum. Somewhere along the line, we find ourselves – student, teacher, human, being.

TRUTH ON TRIAL

Wrapped up around what is real are beliefs from all sides of what we think of how it should be. Perhaps what is being recognized is that everything is permeable. That what we thought was the path has shifted and what we hoped was the future is unknown. That no one really knows what’s happening and we’re writing the story one word at a time. That what matters most right now is knowing your own nervous system and being able to locate yourself amidst the swirling of it all.

When you can locate yourself – become present with yourself, you know the truth, you know where you are. You’re less shakable and you vacillate less with the changing of the tides.

You drop to a layer of truth that is more deep then the back and forth. You recognize that what is meant to happen is exactly what is meant to happen. You become right with yourself.

Perhaps, then, this time can guide us somewhere in the middle, where we can land and find ourselves, where we can actually listen and hear and accept – ourselves and each other with both ears and our whole hearts.

WELCOMING STUDENTSHIP

The student wants to know everything – they want to know what is right and wrong and what will happen.

But the teacher can see beyond that to know that the student is on a journey. The teacher knows they can’t tell the student everything or assume they won’t stumble or get the answers incorrect. The teacher holds a space for this exploration, for the unfolding and for the ultimate truth that each student arrives at.

The true teacher knows that the student arrives at their own answer in their own way on their own path and because of this, they don’t force – they witness. They guide.

There is something vulnerable to letting yourself be. For expressing who you are with no mask and no game. Full exposure encites life and that’s fragile. Life is fragile. It’s real, like an exposed wire – bare and wild.

At first, as a student, it’s scary. You’re a beginner… you have to be. As of now, that’s the only way. You must be a beginner to begin. How many times do we stop before we begin because we’re scared to be new, to say it first, or to make the move? Have you ever?

It’s a flash of life one way and the other. Nerves at the top of the shell, hot and sometimes also, cold. The merging of polarity. The confirmation either way. The feedback. The validation.

It might be the perfect reminder of where we’re at – both teacher and student.

The lessons we’re meant to learn, we will learn. The relationships that will fulfill us most, will come. The career that we’re best suited for, will present itself. But not in some golden ticket, destiny, magic-manifesting-with-no-effort way. The truth is, we’re continuously in a learning process and everything presents itself to progress us forward. Everything. Even the boredom, the checking out, the complete mundane. Even, and maybe especially, what challenges us and causes our skin to prick up in annoyance or envy. The objects of our desires, the focus of our studies and hard work, they come when we stay steady and true to ourselves through what may even seem immature and cliche and beyond us. They come through a connection to self… deeply and authentically. They come in integrity and clarity, beyond – or beneath chatter.

GUIDING YOURSELF HOME

For yourself, on this moon, it’s time. Explore for yourself what you want and how you want to feel. Prioritize yourself and treat yourself exactly that way. When you do, your life will be exactly as it’s supposed to. The journey itself will answer all of your questions.

What are your needs? What are your desires?
What do you need to do to stay connected to this guidance and meet your needs?
Are there conversations you need to have or commitments you need to make?
Are there ways you can help yourself remember when you wander?

May this moon put to trial the beliefs that keep you caught and open the path to what’s next so that you can live more fully, more wholely, more alive.
